Ipoh Old Town, Perak

Ipoh is one of the historically important cities in Malaysia. It was a thriving city around the turn of the 19th century due to the booming tin mining industry. Some of the landmarks of the place include several impressive historical buildings from the British Colonial era such as the Town Hall, the Railway Station and the Court House.

Nowadays, the Old Town of Ipoh has become synonymous with coffee, to be precise ‘Old Town White Coffee’. This special aromatic coffee is served by a few old coffee shops, and a successful franchise has also sprung up around this special blend.

However, one must not forget that Ipoh is also synonymous with good food, second only to the hawker food paradise of Penang. Foodies and culinary aficionados flock to Ipoh annually on their gastronomic pilgrimages.
