I am looking forward to October 2014, because that is the month the Asian Watercolour Expression II will be held. The international exhibition is organised by the Indonesian Watercolour Society, in cooperation with Bentara Budaya, which is a cultural organisation under the auspices of KOMPAS group, the publisher of the largest newspaper in circulation in Indonesia. Asian Watercolour Expression II will be held at Bentara Budaya Bali, from 24 October to 2 November 2014. The participating countries are Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, China – Hong Kong and others.
I am submitting a painting of the Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur because I feel that it fits in well with the theme of the exhibition – ‘Colours of Asia’. It is a Malaysian icon, resplendent in the many colours of cultural heritage.
