The Georgetown UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to many beautiful and unique buildings from an era long past. The Yap Temple, located at the corner of Armenian Street and Cannon Street, is one of these buildings. Officially called Choo Chay Keong, the Yap Temple was built for the worship of the Yap clan’s patron deity, Hoay Che Chung Wang, and is home to the Yap ancestral tablets. It is the clan temple of the Lum Yeong Tong Yap Kongsi, which is located next door.
