George Town, the capital of Penang, has the oldest municipal history in the country, and was accorded City status by Queen Elizabeth II on 1 January 1957. In 2008, George Town was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of the many unique buildings with historically significant architecture, including the Indo-Malay Palladian Style, Anglo-Indian Bungalow, Early Shophouses, Early Transitional Style, Early Electicism Shophouses, Sino-Anglo Bungalows, Neo Classical Styles, Art Deco Style, Early Modern Style, and Late Modern Style.

Penang offers a multitude of scenes and buildings to enthrall the artist’s eye. There is always something more to draw and paint.
